Helping pets to lead happy and healthy lives

Suitable referrals

A summary of the caseload seen at Broadleys includes:

1. Dogs with osteoarthritis [OA], who are no longer well controlled with NSAIDs.

2. Dogs with OA who cannot take NSAIDs because of gastric irritation, or chronic kidney or liver problems.

3. When the source of pain is vague (e.g. post injury where pain continues after apparent healing).

4. When lameness seems remote from the original cause.

5. Post-surgical pain, after the operation site has apparently healed.

6. Palliative care. Offering additional humane and ethical pain management to pets with terminal disease.

7. Cats also respond well to multimodal pain management.
