Helping pets to lead happy and healthy lives

Behaviour

Assessing your pet’s behaviour forms an important
part of each consultation, helping us to understand their pain experience. Behavioural changes may also contribute to the experience of pain and sometimes even small behavioural modifications can help.

Common observations suggesting that pain may be affecting your pet’s quality of life include:

  • Less interest in exercise.
  • Becoming withdrawn [or becoming clingy].
  • Pacing at night.
  • Looking at, or licking/chewing a painful area.
  • Losing interest in play.
